Be ready to be a guitarist !?

 

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I was recording guitar for my youtube cover video for fun .

I do love to play the funk guitar , I don’t need a solo but rather to play just groove.

While I play the guitar , I feel really comfortable . The sound from the headphone makes me feel I should be a guitar player rather than bass player.

But when I play back , it actually sound horrible !!! lol

I’m happy I can play the bass guitar for living .

 

If I practice , maybe one day I will become a guitarist on the stage…..?

 

I need to be ready for the day. So I shot my new artist photo as a guitarist by my self .lol

 

It’s selfie  by timer . Not too bad , isn’t it ?

America tour day 21 ~LA~

Today I had a recording / shooting with badass LA musicians !

Drummer Manuel Rangel / keyboard Ruslan Sirota

 

We record one jazz /hip-hop song and also the  funky shit .

Manuel made my sounds much better by his engineering ! And Ruslan directed me musically !!

 

Thanks for having me and that was really fun and I could learn a lot !

Can’t wait to see the result ♪♪

America tour day 17 ~LA~

 

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita !!

 

Today I had a shooting / recording for a radio program called Pocho Hour of Power at KPFK in Los Angeles .

We recorded for 2 radio shows .

 

The one might have only live performance between programs .

 

The other one has interview about my album , my background for funk , etc .. also they play my song “The Princess of Funk”too ; )!

TOKYO BRASS STYLE Recording

 

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a recording of TOKYO BRASS STYLE with the drummer MiMi,and the keyboardist Ayu-Kang!

You know ,Actually this is my first time to play the bass guitar on recordings for  TOKYO BRASS STYLE !

I joined this band last September but we didn’t have opportunity and it wasn’t the timing .

I’m so happy that finally I can play  on TBS’s CD. Makes me feel like finally I’m The Member of TOKYO BRASS STYLE ! lol   (In fact , many people asked me whether I’m TBS’s temporary backup musician  or not . And some people kinda got surprised when I said I’m the member of the bad.)

 

BTW We have our own show on the December 22nd  in Tokyo .

I’m excited with it !

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

Today I had a rehearsal for a beautiful female guitar player named Shoka Okubo.

It’s been a while to play with her. And I think I missed it .

We’re gonna have a performance tomorrow in Fukushima . Come see us if you are around ; )

 

 

And after the rehearsal I headed to abRiR recording studio for TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI.

The producer Kaneko – san always give us nice foods.  It was healthy ; )

We recorded some main vocals ad also backing vocals .

Miyano-san was the director . His direction was very easy to understand . I really enjoyed it .

TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI ‘s first CD will be released in November ! I’m excited with it ; )

TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI recording

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a recording of  TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI .

I brought my buddy Sadowsky SLAP MASTER.

We recorded only one cover song and we’re gonna have a shooting tomorrow .

Always exited to have shamisen (a.k.a. drum strings according Shinobu Kawashima).

People think shamisen is Japanese traditional instrument but Shinobu can handle all of genre , so we normally play funk / soul music with her.

It was such a nice recording .

 

And at night , I had a performance at Omusubi jazz in Akasaka , Tokyo.

Juna Serita recording 2

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m  a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

It was the second day of my album  recording .

This is the engineer Kato-san : )!! He is young but incredible !

Today we record tap sounds with my favorite tap dancer MIU.

She is still 19 years old , but already worldwide dancer .

I came up with the idea to involve her on my abum ,and I wanted to record her tap in August . However I knew she won’t be in Japan in whole august .lol

That’s why I re-fixed recording schedule August to July  .

Now I’m so glad to have her sounds !!! My decision  was right !

Thanks MIU, and have a nice trip !!

 

 

 

And at night I had a gig for Rita Nishikawa at Ueno warrior celt.

Juna Serita Rec 1

 

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m  a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a recording for my solo album which will be released in September .

The album concept is funk music . All 5 songs are funk music with different way. 

I decided to make the album (actually its only 5 songs, so I should better to say “ EP “) because I wanted to show everything that I’ve learned / felt ever through my life .  I put a lot of my roots on it .

And I want to take  them to the world .  I hope it’ll be my new start line to the next step.  That’s why I wrote all songs in English (even though my pronunciation is suck .lol )

Anyway , the recording went really well because of the awesome engineer and member !

 

I really appreciate to them. I can’t thank enough .

 

After this , we’ll record tap dance , horn, vocal, backing vocal etc… 

I’m so excited !!!

NHK radio

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a opened recording for an radio program named Anigetchu organized by NHK.

It’s a radio program, but also we performed several songs for the opened recording.

Today’s MiMi ‘s drum solo was incredible ! I’m so proud of her .

That was a fun moment !

Today I had a recording / shooting at KORG .

This is the promotion video of their new product .

It was nice meeting the guitar player Asano – san !

Some people said we look similar  ! Lol

We both have straight  long hair  , we both wearing flower printed outfits , and so on…

I really enjoyed the recording and shooting : ) !!

 

 

 

And after that I had a performance of TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI at Shinagawa TRIBECA.

It’s rare to perform withought guest musicians , just three of us .

Today we performed “If I ain’t got you”   .  I have sang this song but I had never played as bass&vocalist .

It was actually difficult because I really wanna focus on vocal when I sing ballade.lol

Anyway , I’ll keep practice ; )
