Hey guys!! I’ m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today we had a show at Futagotamagawa GEMINI Theater !

With this member we haven’t perform her, this it the first time.

The drummer Numata-san and the trumpeter Shiori organized the event. Thanks for having me.

We mostly played old funk songs such as EW&F.

Always fun to play with real horn section !

And the vocalist Andrew sounds really nice !

Graduation of Yuru jam

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

Today I had a jam session called Yuru-jam at Akasaka Jaka’s !

You know I’ve been hosting this jam for over a year but today is my graduate  session . There are so many nice memories .

You all were  always sweet to me and I really appreciate that.

Today many bassists came in , so I really enjoyed to do the other such as drums.

Tower of Power

 

 

Hey guys !! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita !

Today I went to see my idol Tower of Power ‘s show . The set list was variety and I really enjoyed it !! In the fact I couldn’t finish eating meals on the table 😱lol

 

And I ran into my bass master Tetsuo Sakurai !! I couldn’t help screaming 😍❤️

You know , he inspired me through many ways not only how to play the bass guitar but also my music tastes .
Nobody knows I was into more metal / heavy rock , but one day he recommended me to play Tower of Power ‘song named Credit for an exam of the university of music and he let me listened to the song at the class .

Then I totally fell in love and bought TOP’s tutorial book which has minus-one trucks for bassists ✨

The bass lines got me to learn a lot how to mute and play .

Recently some people said to me I always slap and play too much Marcus Miller & Larry Graham tastes( sorry about that ! surely I love them ! ) but if you buy my current CD called The Princess of Funk , you see how I respect Rocco Prestia of TOP .

He change my play style and also TONE 🙏✨

 

And my friend Harumo invited me to visit the backstage and I’m so shocked they’ve known me!?!?

Tom told me he checked my TOP cover videos and also TGJ ‘s what is hip? MV.

Being a member of TOP is one of my dreams , so this opportunity motivated a lot for my life as a musician . ( anyway today’s bass player Mark was so cool !! So I still need to get chops and wait for the chance ! Lol )

TGJ @ Shibuya Terraplane

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m  a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a gig of TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI at Shibuya Terraplane.

This is our monthly – gig  ; ) !

We had some new cover songs which are fusion .

And I think today’s setlist had many Juna vocal songs .lol

every single time I sing , makes me feel I gotta be better as a vocalist too, not only a bass player .

Our next show is on December 4 th at Haneda airport with the guess vocalist Rita Nishikawa.

TOKYO BRASS STYLE Recording

 

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!!

 

Today I had a recording of TOKYO BRASS STYLE with the drummer MiMi,and the keyboardist Ayu-Kang!

You know ,Actually this is my first time to play the bass guitar on recordings for  TOKYO BRASS STYLE !

I joined this band last September but we didn’t have opportunity and it wasn’t the timing .

I’m so happy that finally I can play  on TBS’s CD. Makes me feel like finally I’m The Member of TOKYO BRASS STYLE ! lol   (In fact , many people asked me whether I’m TBS’s temporary backup musician  or not . And some people kinda got surprised when I said I’m the member of the bad.)

 

BTW We have our own show on the December 22nd  in Tokyo .

I’m excited with it !

Thanks Giga Bar Tokyo

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m  a bass guitar player Juna Serita !!

 

 

Today was actually my final Giga Bar Tokyo day …; (

I’ve worked here as a bass guitar player of the  house band for 1 and half year . 

I passed the audition but then , the boss said to me “ You’re great funk player , but seems like you are not good at rock…lol” . 　I kinda prepended to be a multi player , but he recognized that . lol

So Giga Bar has so many repertories about 250 songs . Over half songs should be rock music .

 

When I started work here , actually I only knew 10 songs ..lol 

Since then , many people helped me to learn the other songs . Musicians , boss , and also the audience . 

I’m so happy to be here with you guys , I’m so lucky .

I quit here , but I ‘m pretty sure I’ll come back often just for hangout / dinner . 

The reason I quit is , I just wanted more time for myself .

I wanted to have more time to prepare for Juna Serita’s  show , TOKYO BRASS STYLE ’s show , TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI’s show . And also I wanted to more work on song writing as SSW.

Anyway , I’ll keep going on my music stuff , and hopefully I’ll be ex-Giga Bar Musician that everyone proud of .

TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI @ Shibuya Living Room

 

 

 

Hey guys!! I’m a bass guitar player Juna Serita!

 

Today TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI had a concert at Shibuya Living Room.

It’s been a year since we got formed .

 

Today ‘s guest musicians are , guitar Gento Miyano, Sax Sarah Maeda , Piano& Vocal Koshi Kishita a.k.a. Japanese Stevie Wonder.

You know ,  today was my debut day as a double bass player !!!lol

I played the double bass with Kishita-san and Sarah-chan ;)!

I really appreciate for the great opportunity .

It was only one song but motivated me a lot  ; )!

I hope you guys enjoyed our sow  ; )!!

TGJ is planning to go on a tour next year .

We normally play Makoto’s originals but sometimes mine too.

It’s getting rare to play with Momoko . She is getting better every single time. I’m so admired . She always makes me feel that I gotta practice more ! lol
